The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has officially commenced the 2026 Direct Entry registration.
Registration Period:
Monday, 2nd March 2026 – Saturday, 25th April 2026
Registration will be done ONLY at JAMB State and Zonal Offices nationwide.
As an educational consultant here in Nigeria, I strongly advise all DE candidates to read every detail carefully before proceeding.
DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Academic Qualification
Candidates must have:
• Minimum of 5 O’Level credit passes
• At not more than two sittings
• At least two subjects at Principal or Advanced Level
Acceptable Qualifications (In Lieu of A-Level)
• First Degree (Nigerian or Foreign Universities)
• University Diploma
• National Diploma (accepted up to 2024 intake only)
• Higher National Diploma HND
• NCE
• Nigerian French Language Diploma
• National Arabic Language Diploma
• Interim Joint Matriculation Board A-Level
• Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board A-Level
• National Business and Technical Examinations Board ANBC or ANTC
• Cambridge Assessment International Education A-Level
• International Baccalaureate
• Foreign GCE A-Level
• Trans-national Foundation Certificates
Important: Awarding institutions MUST forward verification before your registration can be completed.
INFORMATION REQUIRED DURING REGISTRATION
All DE candidates must provide:
• Registration or Matriculation Number
• Subjects of qualification
• Awarding Institution
• Affiliated Institution attended if applicable
• Year of graduation
VERY IMPORTANT RULES
No awaiting O-Level results allowed.
Admission will NOT be processed until results are uploaded and verified.
IJMB JUPEB NABTEB awaiting candidates must upload Admission Letter and Registration Template.
Pre-2020 Cambridge certificates require direct Cambridge verification which may take up to 28 days.
Statement of Result is accepted within 3 years of award. NCE is valid for 1 year only.
UTME to DE upgrade is allowed only if you indicated awaiting A-Level during UTME registration.
Multiple registrations attract cancellation and prosecution.
Do NOT apply for UTME and DE at the same time.
DE registration will NOT be extended beyond the official deadline.
Candidates must regularly check their admission status on the JAMB e-Facility portal. Status will show CLEARED or NOT CLEARED with reasons.
IMPORTANT CAVEAT
All DE candidates must provide their JAMB registration numbers previously used for admission into:
• NCE
• NID
• Diploma
• Previous Degree programmes
Buying a new form due to errors invalidates all applications. Always correct errors through JAMB officially.
