Evaporation is the process where a liquid substance changes into a gaseous state (vapor) below its boiling point. It’s a phase transition that occurs at the surface of the liquid, where molecules with enough kinetic energy break free from the liquid’s surface and enter the surrounding atmosphere as vapor.
